Flying

HTSkyBlock provides two flying modes: unlimited fly for players with permissions, and timed fly for players who've been granted limited flight time.

Unlimited Fly

Players with the htskyblock.island.unlimitedfly permission can toggle flight on/off at any time.

Unlimited Fly Features

• No Time Limit: Fly as long as you want
• Invulnerability: You cannot take damage while flying (prevents fall damage and combat deaths)
• Instant Toggle: Turn flying on/off instantly with the command
• Persistent: Fly mode persists across server restarts if you log out while flying

Auto-Disable on Leave

By default, fly mode is disabled when you leave your island (visiting another island, going to spawn, etc.). This can be configured by server admins.

VIP Perk

Unlimited fly is typically granted to VIP/donator ranks. Contact your server admins to learn how to get this permission.

Timed Fly

Players without unlimited fly can use timed fly if they've been granted flight time by admins (e.g., voting rewards, event prizes).

Checking Your Fly Time

How Timed Fly Works

1. Activation: Start flying like normal (double-tap jump or use /is fly if you have any fly time)
2. Countdown: Your fly time counts down in real-time
3. Pausing: Timer pauses automatically when you land on solid ground
4. HUD Display: A countdown appears in the bottom-left corner of your screen
5. Warnings: You'll receive warnings at 5 minutes, 1 minute, 30 seconds, 10 seconds, and 5 seconds remaining
6. Grace Period: When time expires, you have 5 seconds of fall protection to land safely

Time Expires Mid-Flight

If your fly time runs out while you're in the air, you'll receive fall protection for 5 seconds. Land quickly to avoid taking damage.

Timed Fly Features

• Persistent: Fly time is saved and persists across server restarts
• Pause on Disconnect: Your timer pauses when you disconnect (configurable)
• Ground Pause: Timer only counts down while you're actually flying, not when standing on blocks
• Visual Countdown: Bottom-left HUD shows remaining time in minutes and seconds
• Warning System: Progressive warnings help you plan your landing

Getting More Fly Time

Timed fly is granted by server admins using the /isdev flytime command. Common ways to earn fly time:

• Voting for the server on voting sites
• Winning events or competitions
• Completing challenges or milestones
• Donating or purchasing rank upgrades
• Participating in server activities

Check Server Rules

Ask your server admins about their fly time reward system. Many servers give fly time for daily votes or special achievements.

Tips for Using Fly

1. Plan Your Flights: For timed fly, plan your flight path before taking off to conserve time
2. Land on Platforms: Build landing platforms at different heights for safe emergency landings
3. Watch the Timer: Keep an eye on the HUD countdown to avoid running out mid-flight
4. Use Named Homes: Set homes at high builds so you can teleport instead of flying
5. Build Safety Nets: Place water pools or hay bales below high builds as safety nets

Fly Permission Scope

Both fly modes work anywhere the server allows flight. Some servers may restrict flying to specific worlds or areas.
